The customer had seen the Scented Garden murals I’ve created and they wanted something similar in the Chintz design.
The custom Chintz Roses Tile Mural features pink, white and yellow roses with lots of little blue flowers.
There are multitudes of green leaves and trailing vines.
It began with the architects’ drawings for the granny flat addition. Additionally, the homeowners spared no expense. Then, it started with the bathroom sink and mural, and moved to the kitchen. I planned it all out according to their measurements, ensuring the tiles fit properly with the design. One of the most complicated aspects is ensuring the Chintz Roses Shower Mural fits in the shower. Avoid a big line of grout running down the flowers.
Layout Options for shower mural

After the customer chose the mural layout on the right, we moved ahead. Of course, I was hoping for the design on the left, but whatever the customer wants! Next step was to create the design using the Chintz Roses flowers.
Chintz Roses Shower Mural — Process

What you see above are ceramic decals.
Next, I cut them out and rearranged them into a design that worked on the tiles.
Finally, once the design was clear, I photographed each tile section and edited them in Photoshop to show the customer.
Initial Design of the Chintz Shower Mural

Mural layout has been sent to the customer for approval.

By this time, I have spent hours on it, including the Chintz Roses Shower Mural.
However, I just want to get it over with and out of my life.
They were beautiful tiles from Dal-tile.
They were fired up, nice and shiny, with the Chintz Roses Shower Mural design.
After they are fired, I number all the tiles.
I send a schematic so the installer can get the job done.
Final Fired Chintz Roses Shower Mural Tiles

They really did look fantastic on the dal tiles. Fortunately, they all made it to the customer after some serious effort packing them up. Moreover, I am an expert at packing at this point.
Mural Installed in Shower

Sorry, it’s not a very good photo.
Additionally, the customer did send me some better ones, but I never downloaded them from my phone.
They changed phone numbers in the phone, and the text is not there anymore.
Matching Chintz Drop-in Sink

This is the sink I made to match the shower mural. It is a standard Kohler Pennington drop-in with the Chintz-less design applied. Available on the Decorated Bathroom website.
His mom loved the bathroom so much I did another mural in the same design for her country kitchen and some really cute accent tiles for the counter.

It was one of those jobs that just wouldn’t go away.
However, the transformation of the granny flat for the customer’s mother was complete with everything she wanted.
I can do a lot with the Chintz design. Check out this previous post on some Chintz design sinks and toilets.
