Take a shower in the garden. This post features a floral tile mural I did about a year ago with the Scented Garden design. The interior designer conceived it, sent me a mock up and I reproduced it as close as possible. Of course it was way more work than I wanted it to be, because it was big, but the end result was worth it. The Scented Garden design is painted with tulips, poppies, roses, daisies, violets, chrysanthemums, iris, morning glory, cornflowers and more. I can also add a hummingbird, a ladybug and a butterfly or two, or more, but this customer wanted just the flowers.
Scented Garden Tile Shower Mural

This is something similar to what the designer requested, however, due to client confidentiality I am not sharing what she actually sent me on social media. Since I’m good at photoshop, I found a similar shower stall and mocked up the design myself, with the actual mural tiles. It turned out pretty good although I just noticed a ‘photoshopping error’. See if you can figure it out. I’m not fixing it, it’s just a blog post.
Floral Tile Mural for Shower Stall

The mural shown above has been shortened, there were a few more rows of white tile between the top and bottom. How do I make it you ask? Well, I get tiles, in this case 10 x 14″ white porcelain American Olean tile, I prefer that brand as they have a very nice hard finish on them so that the design fires up shiny and bright. I figure out the design, put the ceramic decals on the tiles, they are applied by soaking in water and then removing the excess with a squeegee. After a 24 hour drying period, I put them in the kiln and fire to approximately 1400 degrees. This fuses the design to the surface of the tile so it won’t wear out or fade away. It’s on there for the life of the shower, or until you get sick of it!!!
Scented Garden Tile Mural Detail

Here is a detail of the top left portion of the mural so you can see close up how nice the flowers look. If you click on it a bigger image will open up. I’ve made a few other Scented Garden tile murals, featured in previous posts, Scented Garden Bathroom, and Blue and White Bathroom with Scented Garden.
The flowers in the mural coordinate with the many Scented Garden painted sink and toilet designs available for sale on our website, decoratedbathroom.com. Please check it out. Thanks. – Lynne
