Platinum Ornate Border Decorated Sink
One of the reasons I love this border on the sink is that it’s on the rim, right up there where everybody can see it. Big Fancy Border Sink in Platinum Bathroom
This is an elegant bathroom with silver foil-finish cabinets, expensive faucets and our beautiful sink painted with an ornate border in platinum. I could go on an on about this bathroom, great attention to detail, everything looks awesome together and all ties in to make a bathroom anybody would be proud to call their own. Obviously cost wasn’t a big issue for this renovation. If I remember correctly I think it was in Florida.

Gold Big Fancy Border Gold Drop-in Sink
I originally created this design in gold and it’s featured in a previous blog post here. It was adapted from a historical archive. I created artwork on the computer in Illustrator, sent the file out the the silk-screener, SDI Custom Decal in Hawley PA. Sue, at SDI, then silkscreens a special ceramic decal for me. It’s a bit of a technical process and the gold and platinum are actually real gold and platinum and they are combined with a bunch of other chemicals. You put them on the sink, during the firing process, all the other stuff burns off and leaves just the gold or silver, at another (hotter) temperature, the glaze becomes liquid on the fixture at which point what’s left of the decal, the gold or silver is permanently fused to the glaze, it becomes a part of it. It won’t wear out of fade away with proper care, which is nothing abrasive. Just keep them clean, and buff with a soft cloth to get any water spots out.
